Polkerris holidays - beside the sea

what to do

Attractions close by…

welcome to polkerris!

Polkerris has a soft and sandy beach suitable for all ages from toddlers to grandparents and many visitors choose to do little more than sunbathing, fish off the harbour wall and investigate the rock pools.

For a more active holiday, the Polkerris Beach watersports centre offers RYA-recognised sailing and windsurfing courses, as well as standup-paddleboard, kayak, windsurfer and sailing dinghy rentals. Full details can be found at the beach website www.polkerrisbeach.com.

If you wish to explore the local area you will find plenty to do. Each caravan has an information sheet on days out, such as train rides and cycling, and on the location of shops – and if you’re not sure, just ask us for advice!

the eden project

The world-famous Eden Project is not far away.

If you haven’t been there before, you will be amazed at how a big hole in the ground has been transformed into an amazing ‘experience’ that appeals to just about everyone in some way.

If you have been there before, go again to see how much it has changed and expanded.

Their ‘Eden Sessions’ Concerts are now a regular feature in the summer and can make a great night out.

Fowey is a historic sea-faring town on the river of the same name, situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  It’s a popular yachting location as well as a commercial port.

The town itself is packed with high-quality shops, pubs and restaurants and offers a range of activities.

Each year Fowey celebrates the work of the writer Daphne de Maurier who lived just up the road from Polkerris at Menabilly for a while.  Her books captured the imagination of millions of people and helped widen the appeal of Cornwall.

Fowey is a pleasant 40-minute walk along the ancient Saints Way.
